In New York, June Stone owned and operated a pair of successful restaurants with her artist husband. She taught herself public relations and launched her own PR and marketing firm, after selling the eateries. Her clients included Lenox Hill Hospital and Congressman Lester Wolf. During this period, June also served as PR Director for International Commodities Export Company (ICEC).

Her accomplishments included producing events for Robert F. Kennedy presidential campaign, featuring celebrities such as Ella Fitzgerald and James Earl Jones. She also served as Development Director for the Robert F. Kennedy Theater for Children. 

Junes strong community relations roots included founding and serving as president of “Community Priorities”, where she developed and implemented philanthropic projects on behalf of major corporations. She also championed the Harlem Music Festival, trained rehabilitated drug addicts to reenter the workforce for the Bowery Mission, and established mobile feeding programs for the New York City homeless.

June Stone was inspired to immigrate to Israel in 1998. The stark contrast of the natural beauty of Israel marred by graffiti, garbage and dog waste motivated her to organize her neighbors and form a street association, in order to bring about positive changes. The key was to transform Israelis love of their homeland into a sense of personal accountability and self-supporting actions. This led to the establishment of Because I Care – Israel, a nonprofit organization.

June was honored to receive the Tel Aviv “Woman of the Year” award in 2007, in recognition of this achievement.

She is the proud mother of two sons and grandmother to three. She lives in the Tel Aviv Yemenite quarter with her dog Pebbles.
